Chevron Renaissance, Surfers Paradise
Gold Coast, QLD
The recent $5 million refurbishment of the Chevron Renaissance at Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast has transformed its retail area into a laneway-style precinct with street art, cafes, bars and speciality stores. The redevelopment features GRC street furniture and planters manufactured by Quatro Design.
The design by John Pearce of Arkitektika features two sets of four three-metre-long custom planters on each side of a central café area. Several of the planters include timber seats in recycled ironbark. The planters also feature LED strip lighting around the base to illuminate them at night.
Each ‘wing’ in the design also includes a customised Quatro 1800 Designer bowl fitted with timber seating and a 1200 Designer Bowl planter. Again the timber is recycled ironbark.
