Beach Hotel & Resort, Byron Bay

The Beach Hotel and Resort is a Byron Bay icon that has welcomed locals and visitors for over 25 years. Its famous beer garden and contemporary pub has become a welcoming place for all people from all walks of life. It overlooks Byron’s main beach which is one of the most celebrated views in Australia.

The Beach Hotel and Resort was recently sold to Moelis Hotel Management Australia who partnered with local landscape architects to renovate and breathe new life into the pub and beer garden.

Their brief was simple: “Make it green”. Inspired by the rhythm of the ocean and Byron Bay’s surrounding rain forests and mountains, the vision for the space is to celebrate the transition from the ocean to the forest.

Creating a balance between public space design and the surrounding landscape, to embrace nature rather than compete with it. This philosophy was the driving force behind the warm organic palette; using rusted steel, aged copper and timber accents. Salt and wind resistant coastal foliage also transitions into lush tropical fronds once indoors, with a spectacular green wall as the main feature behind the stage.

We supplied bowls and pots from our Designer Bowl, U Bowl and Cylinder collections, all with a custom rust paint effect to tie-in with the design theme. The Quatro Design sales team also designed a new 1600 Designer Bowl specifically for this project. This landscape pot has now been added to our Designer Bowl range along side our new 1400 and 2000 bowls.

Our 1000 Designer Bowls were converted into hanging planters with the addition of custom powder coated rods and bases to add cascading greenery into the refreshed space.
