Riverfront Rooftop Garden
St Lucia, Brisbane
A collection of our GRC planters, troughs and seats were recently used to create a striking rooftop garden in St Lucia, Brisbane.
Designed and installed by Clegg Design, the rooftop was transformed from a stark and blank space into a lush and tropical retreat to compliment the boutique apartment building’s absolute Brisbane River frontage at one of St Lucia’s most coveted addresses.
Steven and the Clegg Design team created a truly unique rooftop garden using freestanding GRC pots, planter boxes and seats – negating the need for any structural alterations to the rooftop surface. Glassfibre Reinforced Concrete (GRC) is often an attractive alternative to cast concrete due to its reduced weight, particularly when designing for rooftops and balconies.
The Clegg crew installed a collection of our Narrow Tall trough and 600 Series modular planter boxes to create trellis planters and to soften and frame some of the rooftop’s walled surfaces. Clusters of our Cylinder planters in concrete grey, charcoal, white and rust were used as feature pots and planted with tropical and native plant species.
The pot clusters were combined with our Pod and Pebble GRC seats to transform the space into a welcoming oasis from which to entertain and take in the breath-taking river and city views.
The well-designed space has transformed the rooftop into an urban retreat and will continue to delight as the garden matures.
